About
About AvNav
AvNav is built to reduce the gap between what is happening in the air and what the pilot actually perceives in the cockpit.
Origin
AvNav began in 2014 on Android with a simple objective: deliver serious EFB capability without forcing expensive hardware lock-in.
Over time, it evolved from a traditional navigation app into a system that integrates airspace visualization, ATC communication, and flight planning into a single 3D view.
Independent Credibility
AvNav has been featured in Aviation Consumer and demonstrated at Sun ’n Fun’s Innovation Preview.
This reflects long-term execution and real-world usability rather than short product cycles.
Engineering Foundation
AvNav is built as a full-stack system, not a collection of features.
The platform combines:
- a high-performance 3D map engine (WebAssembly-based) for real-time rendering of airspace, terrain, and traffic
- on-device ATC transcription using domain-specific neural network models designed for noisy radio environments
- Weather-aware AI flight planning across multiple time horizons (hours to days)
The system is designed around cockpit realities: limited bandwidth, high workload, and the need for immediate clarity.
Founder Background
AvNav is developed by a founder with over two decades of experience building real-time, production systems.
The focus has consistently been on reliability, performance, and systems that hold up under real-world conditions.
AvNav applies that same approach to aviation: an integrated system built end-to-end rather than assembled from disconnected tools.
AvNav continues to evolve from a pilot application into a broader aviation intelligence platform.
